Antonio Goncalves Silva

Mr. Antonio Goncalves Silva of Hanford entered into eternal rest on September 23, 2015 at the age of 89. Mr. Silva was born in Ladeira Grand, Ribeirinha, Terceira, Açores. He lived in Hanford, CA for 55 years. He was a dairyman for over 30 years.

After retirement Antonio enjoyed gardening, he was especially proud of the fava beans he grew and spending time with family and friends.

Antonio is survived by his wife of 60 years; Zulmira F. Silva, daughter Zelma M. Silva (David Church), son Frank G. Silva (Teri) and son Joe F. Silva (Rosemary Lira), two granddaughters Amber Silva (Gabe Rodriquez) and Amy Silva, four great-grandchildren Sabrina, Issac, Tony and Fabian all of Hanford, CA. He also leaves three brothers; Manuel Silva (Amelia) of Ribeirinha, Terceira, Açores, Candido Silva (Conceicao) of Toronto, Canada, Alvaro Silva of Vilha Nova, Teceira, Açores, and a sister Celina Silva of Ribeirinha, Terceira, Açores.

He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Faustina Silva, three brothers João Silva, Jose Silva, Francisco Silva and sister Maria Pimentel.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 (559) 584-5591. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Catholic Church; 10435 Hanford-Armona Road, Hanford, CA 93230 (559) 584-8576 with Burial following at Calvary Cemetery; 11680 S. 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230 (559) 584-3937.
