Bernice Vieira

Bernice Vieira, age 93, passed away on May 31, 2018, in Hanford. Bernice was born in Goshen, CA on January 30, 1925.

Bernice was an active 4-H leader of the Oakdale 4-H Club, Sundale PTA, St. Aloysius Altar Society, LUSO American, and Cabrillo Club.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Mary Mello, her husband David Vieira Sr. and her great-grandsons Chase Silveira and Blake Vieira. She is survived by her three children David Vieira Jr., Alvin Vieira, Sr., (Jeri), and Linda Silveira (Anthony); her nine grandchildren Felicia Vieira (Adam), Anthony Silveira III (Chelsea), Angelique Vieira (Shane), Christopher Silveira (Courtney), Catina Ekk (Chris), Alvin Manuel Vieira Jr., (Kelly), Marcus Silveira (Laura), Tekla Patton (Eric), and David Joseph Vieira; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Hanford Post Acute who loved and cared for her.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 18, at 10:00 am at the Tulare Public Cemetery; 900 E. Kern Ave., Tulare, CA.

Dear David, Alvin, Linda and all the family. I am so sorry for your lose. Aunt Bernice was a beautiful, strong and loving person. I have such wonderful memories of her. Please know my heart goes out to all. I really wanted to be at her services although our plans could not be changed.

Bernice was a lovely person. Her beautiful warm smile and hearty laugh was always so welcoming. I'll miss her impeccable style and grace. My kids called her Granny "Neece" and she will be missed.
