Betty Marie Easterwood was born on March 13th, 1937 in Benton, Arkansas to Noah Monroe Griffin and Edith Halsted. Betty moved from Arkansas to California in the 1950s and lived happily in her home in Hanford, California until her day of passing on June 9th, 2021.
Betty is survived by her two children, William McGhee and Carol Curtis. Her five grandchildren, Ben Hulsey, Rebecca Hulsey, Tiffany Dickerson, Richard Hilliard and Dustin Cox. Finally, her 10 great grandchildren Kaity and Gavin Hulsey, Demetrius, Deville and Decoda Dickerson, Michael Hilliard, Imee Hilario, Ellie and Johnathan Hilliard and Skyler Cox.
Betty was an educator at heart. She loved to educate children and she took that passion and worked as a teacher’s aide at Lincoln Elementary School for many years. Betty also had a passion for music and every ounce of joy she had in her would shine through when she played her guitar. Betty was part of a band, “GloryLand”, that spent their time bringing joy to others through music. Betty was also an avid woman of faith and she believed that if you put your faith in the Lord that His will would be done. If you needed answers you should pray on it and eventually, they would come.
Betty is finally home.
