Obituary of Carmen Romero Medrano

Carmelita Romero Medrano passed away on 04/13/2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Carmen was 94 years old. She was born on April 14, 1929, in Gila Arizona. Carmen's parents Martin Romero and Beatriz Badilla proceeded her in death.

Carmen and her family moved from Arizona to Hanford Ca. As a young lady that is where she met the love of her life Raymond Medrano, and they married in 1943. She gave birth to a daughter and a son while living in Hanford. Carmen and her family then moved to Santa Clara. where she gave birth to another daughter.

Carmen worked at the world’s largest cannery “Libby’s” in Sunnyvale. She also worked at Sunny View Manor Retirement Home. Carmen and her husband owned their own business, South County Janitorial, before retiring. After retiring they decided to move back to Hanford. Ray preceded her in death in 2001.

Carmen enjoyed making and painting ceramics. She loved music and dancing.

Carmen had three children, Mary Ann, Bobby, and Gina. She was always happy to be around her children and grandchildren.

There were so many happy memories. Mary Ann remembers coloring and playing jacks with her mom. Bobby remembers her always attending his basketball and baseball games. Her granddaughters Jessica and Amber remember on Friday nights they would make rice crispy treats and watch Boy Meets World. They also enjoyed painting her nails, dressing her up and doing her hair. Her granddaughters Lisa, Mona and Gracie remember spending the night on Saturdays and she would make a big bowl of popcorn and they would watch creature features, the night would end by sleeping on the hide-a-bed.

Carmen was strong in her Christian Faith and attended Grace Temple in Hanford. She loved being at church and reading her bible. Carmen kept a book of people’s names that she wanted to pray for daily.

Carmen leaves behind her three children, nine grandchildren, fourteen great and five great-great grandchildren. Son-in-law Bobby and Daughter-In-Law Jan.
