

Cecil “Lew” Lewis Frasieur, born in Oakland, CA on December 24, 1924, passed away peacefully at the Hacienda Convalescent home in Hanford, CA, Monday, May 14, 2012. He was raised and educated in Manteca, California.
From 1943 to 1945 Lew served in the United States Army Air Corps over Western Europe. Following his discharge Lew obtained his teaching credential from College of Pacific and Fresno State University and served as a Speech Therapist and teacher for over 30 years in the Hanford area. Following retirement he and his wife, Ellen co-taught at the Hanford Adult School. He had a passion for teaching children and adults alike. Lew was a man of faith which he openly shared with friends and acquaintances. He was a longtime member of the Gideons. Lew never missed an opportunity to tell a joke to anyone he came across, saying “Hey, I’ve got one for you” or “Have you heard the one about the….” always adding an extra twist to make a conversation more interesting.
Lew is survived by three children and their families: Forest Frasieur and Myra Nissen of Benicia, Jeffrey and Robin Anne Frasieur of Hanford and Caralee (Frasieur) Stevens of Sacramento; five grandchildren, Aaron Frasieur, Crystal Frasieur, Daniel Frasieur, Joseph Rios and Jessica Rios.
Lew was preceded in death by his loving wife Ellen, his parents Forest and Lillie (Lewis) Frasieur, and his brother Jack Frasieur.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 24th at Calvary Chapel of Hanford.
