Charles "Chuck" Coon

Chuck was born in Lindsay, California on January 7, 1941. He graduated from Hanford High School in 1959 and worked as an electrician for Ritchie Electric for 20 years before establishing his own business Coon Electric. During his retirement years, he enjoyed working part-time at Santa Fe Mini Storage.

Chuck married his high school sweetheart Nancy (England) on August 29, 1959; they remained married until his death nearly 54 years later.

Learning to work hard at an early age he enjoyed using his trade skills to help others. He shared many fond memories of his travels throughout the world. Later his life revolved around spending time with family and friends.

Chuck is survived by his wife Nancy; sons Robbie Coon and wife Jamie, Devin Coon; daughters Jana Holmstrup and husband Al, Shauna Archer and husband Darryl, Nikki Garcia and husband Joel, Brooke Austin and husband Keith. He was the proud Papa of his grandchildren Connor Coon, Justin Coon and wife Alyssa, Jenna Coon, Randy Green and wife April, Ryan Green and wife Janie, Mattea Green, Sean Archer and wife Emma, Sara Gagnon and husband Donald, Stephanie Harmon and husband Will, Michaella, Mackenzie, and DJ Archer, Alli and Hayden Garcia, Ashleigh, Kyleigh, Paris, and Jeremiah Austin; his great grandchildren Jade, Davin, Lizzie, Xander, Sage, Cashton, Alex, Bryan, Sean Jr., Quinton, Morgan, Adam, Baylee, Keiyden and Tucker. He is also survived by his brothers Dick and Jon Coon; sisters Billie Owens, Lynn Bettencourt, Toni Garcia, Cheri LaVerne; and numerous relatives and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Dick and Ruth Coon; and Virginia and Cecil Vickers.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Hanford Fraternal Hall, 1015 N. 10th Avenue. Fred Scaife of the River Bend Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses will be officiating. Arrangements under the direction of People’s Funeral Chapel, Hanford, CA.
