OBITUARY

Clyde Stephen Yarbrough

November 2, 1948 – June 21, 2025
Obituary of Clyde Stephen Yarbrough
IN THE CARE OF

People’s Funeral Chapel

Dad passed peacefully on June 21, 2025. He was surrounded by family in his last days. He served in the Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran with the VS-21 Squadron, retired from the Federal Government after 35 years and moved to Missouri in 2005 where he enjoyed his land and continued his drag racing until about the age of 70. When he moved to Missouri he was intentional about keeping in touch with us kids. Calling us multiple times a week and daily for years. Dad moved back to the Central Valley June of 2025. If you knew him, you know his stories from NHRA drag racing, his time in the military, and back in his mischievous days. His stories were the best, with most of them provoking a deep belly laugh. He was a generous soul who lent a hand to anyone he could, created amazing memories as a drag racer, he could build a motor from the ground up, he was smart and had wit, he loved being a Papa/grandpa, and he was the best catcher a softball pitcher could ask for. There will always be a "Steve" size hole in our hearts. To know him was to love him.

He is survived by his children (and their families): Andy Yarbrough, Stephanie Pacheco, Tracie Nowlin, and Kellie Smith as well as his grandkids: Kaleb Yarbrough, Isaiah Duran, Liam Smith, Troy Smith, Kelandra Smith, Mercedes Cozzi, Keanu Nowlin, and Declan Nowlin.
