Dawn Pauline Hiebert of Hanford CA, formerly of Anderson MO passed away after a sudden illness on January 19th, 2017. Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, William and Clara Grant, a brother George Grant, and her husband of 50 years, Robert Hiebert. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Katherine Hiebert-Brumley, Christina (and husband Cory) Nichols, Sarah (and husband Eric) Giberti; 5 grand-daughters, Amber Brumley, Elizabeth (and husband Titus) McCulley, Stesha Nichols, Kierstan Porter, and Emily Porter; 3 grandsons, Johnathan Brumley, Jace Thomas and Tyler (and wife Brooke) Trudo; 2 great-grandaughters Lillyanne’ McCully, and Myla Trudo; brother Donald (and wife Blanca) Grant; and sister Dixie Grant.
Dawn was born on November 2, 1943 to William and Clara Grant in Brownsville, TX. She spent her childhood there, and her love of the beach derived from her childhood. Dawn moved to Bellflower, CA as a teenager where she graduated high school. While in California she met the love of her life, Robert Wayne Hiebert while singing in a church choir. They were married December 11, 1965. From this union they had 3 daughters; Katherine, Christina, and Sarah. After moving to Anderson in the early 1970’s Dawn was a stay at home mother raising not just her 3 children but friends of her daughters. Many kids growing up knew Dawn and respected and loved her. She in turn loved them all just as her own. All 3 of her children were blessed to have her as a mother and a best friend. Dawn was also leader of the PTA, the La Leche League, and the Spirit of ’76 4-H Club.
Dawn loved her children and her family tremendously. In 1982, she went to work at the Wal-Mart Home Office and worked there 26 years until her retirement. Once retired she loved to travel. Not only did she love to travel, but she loved to travel with her grandkids. From a cross country drive to Disneyland, Disneyworld, South Padre Island, or just weekend trips to Branson she loved to get away. Dawn was generous and selflessness, always giving to others first. She taught her children true unconditional love, kindness, helpfulness, to always sing in the car, and no matter what never, ever suck on a straw in an empty cup or play with your chewing gum. Dawn was one of the most wonderful women to have walked the earth. Anyone knew her was blessed abundantly. She is dearly loved and missed.
