Dirk grew up in Lindsay Ca. but lived in Pismo Beach for 28 years just a block up from the ocean. He loved deep sea diving and the ocean. He loved camping, cars, and movies. He had never been married and didn’t have children but loved people and animals. Dirk battled pain and health issues his whole life, but the family was surprised when he entered the hospital in liver failure.
Dirk loved his niece Rikki and nephew’s Bob and Lane. Since his father’s, Richard Ivins, passing six years ago, he has lived in Hanford with his mother, Bobbie. He had become indispensable to her and his sister Christie over the last few years. He loved his great nieces Melanie, Aliya and Della but had developed a special relationship with his youngest great niece 5-year-old Lila Jay. He loved telling her stories and giving her stuffies he won out of the claw machine. She thought he was funny and appreciated him in a way few would understand.
His loss is felt deeply throughout his family, both immediate and extended. He is survived by his mother Bobbie Ivins, his sister Christie Cromeenes and brother-in-law Robert Cromeenes, his niece Rikki Montejano, his nephews Bob Cromeenes and Lane Morrow and his great nieces Melanie, Aliya, Della, and Lila. He was loved and will be missed greatly.
Dirk is being cremated. A virtual service will be held in a couple of weeks. If interested in joining in, please check Dirk Ivins on facebook for date and time.
