Dolores Kathleen Kampa, 81 of Hanford passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Hacienda Healthcare. Dolores was born to Joe & Rose (Alves) Rocha on September 11, 1932 in Stockton, California. Dolores was raised in the Riverdale-Island District along with her siblings; Angie Rocha, Johnny Cotta, Rosemarie Cotta and David Cotta. She had attended the old San Jose and Island Elementary Schools after which she attended Lemoore High School. She then married Clarence Costa in 1950.

Dolores and Clarence had three children; Michael Costa and Rick Costa both of Hanford and Vickie Costa Harris of Aurora, Colorado. After her marriage to Clarence she then married the late Merland Kampa in 1963 and had a wonderful life together. They had a son; Timothy Kampa and a baby girl; Tanya Kampa who passed as an infant.

Dolores worked in her early year’s waitressing at the old Peter Pan Café and Peden's Café. She also worked 20 plus years at J.C. Penny’s at old Kings Mall before retiring in 1988 following be widowed and her health. She enjoyed those following years active in the King’s County Singles Club, taking jaunts to various places in the area. She served at one time as Club president. In 1995 she became smitten to the late; Jim Laurent and they together retired to Brookings, Oregon. Following his death she returned to Hanford in 2009 residing with her son Rick. Because of declining health affected by Alzheimer's and Dementia she lived at Hanna's House in Hanford for the past year.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents; Joe Rocha & Rose Cotta, her beloved husband; Merland Kampa and their daughter; Tanya Kampa, her son; Rick Costa on June 30, 2014, a grandson; Richard Costa and her sister; Angie (Rocha) Madruga.

Dolores is survived by her children; Michael Costa, Vickie Harris and Timothy Kampa. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Kelli Costa Brown, Chris Costa, Ashlee Costa, Heather Costa, Tausha Brajkovich, Stacy Harris, Jake Kampa and many great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Dolores’s Life will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 followed by Inurnment at Grangeville Cemetery; 10428 14th Avenue, Armona, CA 93202.

I love you Aunt Dee!! You were like a second Mama to me and when Mama passed, you were there once again to comfort me with your precious hugs and humor. I enjoyed our time together and thank you so much for the precious memories. You will be forever in my heart special lady.

Dear Sister, how I enjoyed the times we would get together when I was still in High School and you would pick me up and we would go to our favorite superiors in Lemoore and splurge on banana splits and the great times we had on shopping sprees those were special times. I attended and graduated with "Skinny" from Lemoore High School. Would often ask about her but they all though she still was up north.
I was sad to here of her death. A very special and smart person.
Please know that other's are very sad to hear of her death.
