

He was born August 31, 1942 to parents Jimmie and Marie Lipe in Hanford CA. Jimmie died on Okinawa in May of 1944 and the family relocated to Webber Falls Oklahoma. In 1957, he met and later married the love of his lifetime, Florence Mullen. Spud worked in the oilfields of Coalinga for 25+ years and eventually purchased a boat and became a Commercial Fisherman. He was a loyal member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Coalinga 1872 for 56 years. He served as Aries President 3 times and held 30+ officer titles during his years of membership. Spud was larger than life. Always a smile on his face, a story or joke to tell or a shoulder to lean on.
Spud is survived by his brother Wayne Lipe and wife Cindy of Prather CA. Daughter, Tonya Baxley and husband Mitch of Templeton CA. Sons David Lipe and wife Julianne of Clovis CA and Chuck Henslick of North Fork CA. Additionally, Grandchildren Matthew Lipe and wife Kristal of Nampa ID; Samantha Buchanan and husband Christopher of Ramona CA; Michael Lipe of Greenfield CA; Amanda Baxley of Templeton; Briana Kinnison and husband Rob of Salem OR; and Garrett Lipe of Clovis CA. And, 5 great-grandchildren; Johnathan, Charli, Conner, Wyatt and Nathan...and another girl on the way. Spud is preceded in death by his wife Florence, brother Cecil and grandchildren Calaeb and Anastasia.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Coalinga-Huron Cemetery; 40054 Calaveras Ave.; Coalinga CA 93210. A reception will be held at Coalinga Eagles Lodge; 156 Durian Ave.; Coalinga CA 93210 following graveside services.
