Eddie Mae Smith Towey

Eddie Mae Towey was born in Brewton, Alabama on March 5, 1942 to Stelly Edgar Smith and Floria Mae Odom Smith. On February 6, 1962 she married Michael Edward Towey in Brewton, Alabama. Michael was serving in the United States Navy and they made their home in Jacksonville, Florida until 1969 when he was transferred to NAS Lemoore. They made their home in Hanford where they raised their three sons, Mark, Don and Michael. Eddie Mae was of Baptist faith and last attended Central Baptist Church of Hanford. She enjoyed cooking, listening to country and western music and spending time with and visiting her friends. Eddie Mae especially enjoyed times spent with her family and they fondly remember what a wonderful wife and mother she was. She was preceded in death by her son Don Alan Towey.

Eddie Mae leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Michael of Hanford; two sons, Mark Towey and girlfriend, Amee and Michael Eddie Towey and wife Louisa, all of Hanford; one brother Jim Smith of Hanford and one grandson, Erik Michael Towey of Hanford and many friends.

Memorial services will be held on Wedneday, June 22, 2011 at 2 p.m. at People's Funeral Chapel, 501 N. DOuty Street in Hanford, CA.
