

Eldora Jean Sewell passed away on March 2, 2017 She was born in Springfield, MO on December 14, 1939. She grew up and attended Springfield Schools. She attended Central High School where she met Ira Sewell. They graduated in May of 1958. After high school she worked as a telephone operator. She went to Cosmetology School and became a beautician. She married Ira and he joined the Navy. They moved to his first duty station in China Lake California. Throughout the years they were stationed in many different places such as Pensacola, FL, Daytona Beach, FL, Albany GA. and Beeville TX before retiring in Hanford. She enjoyed moving and seeing different places. She worked at numerous hotels as a desk clerk. She also enjoyed working as a supervisor for Photomat stores. She had two daughters Terri and Cindy. After retiring, she spent her time working in the yard, canning jelly and fresh fruits, traveling with Ira and tracing her genealogy. She was a member of the Renegade Rootdiggers genealogy group. She also liked to go to see plays with a group of friends at Roger Rocka. She loved her dog Charco.
Eldora was preceded in death by her husband Ira, her mother Geneva DeVore, her brother Harry DeVore, her father in law Murrel Sewell, her mother in law Leota Sewell, and her sister in law Mary Dysart.
Eldora is survived by her daughter Terri Wilbur and husband Chris of Hanford. Her daughter Cindy Klaus and husband Kelly of Garden City, KS. Her sister in law and brother in law Hap and Anita Cooper of Springfield, MO Her grandchildren: Shannon Minor (and husband Brad); Lisa Mason (and husband Tim); Lacy Brooks (and husband Travis); Ryan Klaus; and Stan Klaus (and wife Courtney) Brooke Wilbur, Stephen Wilbur (Carolina) and Nichelle (John) Great grandchildren: Jeramy, Cody, Valarie, Annabelle, Emma, Bryce, Beckham, Austyn, Jayce, Jonathon, Olivia and Lukas. Also her nieces Traci, Shay and Sara of Springfield, MO.
The family would like to thank Evergreen Assisted Living for the thoughtful care they gave our mom. We would also like to thank James and Anna from Compassionate Care for the kind loving way that they took care of our mom while she was in Hospice.
A Graveside Service is being held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Grangeville Cemetery; 10428 14th Ave, Armona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation.
