

Francisco Puga, fondly remembered as "Papanchi" by his grandchildren, entered into eternal peace at the age of 95 on Monday, February 8, 2016. Francisco was born in Michoacan, Mexico to Trinidad Alfaro and Silvano Puga.
From a very early age he came to California looking for work to support his family. After many years of going back and forth, in 1979 he moved his family to Hanford so that they could all be together. Francisco was a God loving man. He was very proud of his hard working children.
After retiring from farm labor, he enjoy walking and hanging out with his friends (los chavalos) at the park. He loved to swim and jump in the pool with the kids. Francisco enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports, specially soccer. Francisco was happiest when his numerous family got together for parties.
He was predeceased in death by his father Silvano, his mother Trinidad, his wife Abigail Rios Puga, his sister Trinidad, his brothers Luciano, Arcadio, Jose and Jesus, and his 3 beloved infant children.
He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his sons Arturo –Lupe of Armona, Ramon-Celia of Kingsburg, Javier-Lucila of Armona, Luis-Eva of Hanford, Rodolfo-Teresa of Tulare, Francisco-Lupe of Hanford and Alfredo of Mexico and his daughters Ofelia of Hanford, Margarita of Hanford, Virginia -Eliceo Cervantes of Armona and Trinidad -Dennis Perez of Hanford, his 37 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers Gaspar and Robert.
Francisco was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where he attended mass and prayer groups.
Services will be Wednesday, February 17th , viewing 4-6, rosary at 6:00 pm. Mass will be on Thursday, February 18th at 10 am. Both services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hanford. The graveside service will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
