At 6 years old, Freda, an only child, immigrated to the United States of America with her parents, John and Jenny Karsies. Freda graduated from Bellflower Christian School. She married Charles Sybesma, her husband of 67 years, on April 5, 1950.
While living in Bellflower, Freda enjoyed the Dutch community, church, family, and friends. Joann and Debra were born during this time. Pursuing their dream of owning a dairy, Freda and Charlie moved to Canoga Park, then Lemoore, and finally Hanford. Freda enjoyed sewing and handwork, including stitchery and needlepoint. She loved to shop and find a bargain. She loved cats and kept great pride in keeping a beautiful home. She was very good at bookkeeping for the dairy. She loved to giggle and play games with her children and grandchildren.
Freda is survived by daughters Joann Dobrinin and Debra Boogaard and husband Jack. Grandchildren Daniel Dobrinin and wife Heather, Douglas Dobrinin, Darla Dobrinin, Megan Boogaard Harris and Husband Daniel, Elizabeth Boogaard Davis and husband Luke and Matthew Boogaard. Great-grandchildren Ethan, Campbell, Griffin, Nathaniel, and Elizabeth.
After Charles passed away January 20, 2018, Freda moved to Valley Christian home in Hanford.
Thank you to Pastor and Barbara Needham for praying for and encouraging our mom, and grandma, Freda.
Special Thanks to Marlene Vander Moren who loved and cared for both Freda and Charlie. We are very grateful.
