Genevieve “Nenette” White passed away on April 3, 2014. It was her 92nd birthday. Genevieve was born in Souhemes, France and grew up in Verdun, France where she met her husband to be Joseph White during World War II. The two were married and after the war moved to California. She was a wonderful
wife and mother to her four children, Mary Jo Alvernaz of Hanford, Robert White of Campbell, Chantal Sherbrook of Hanford and Solange Pollack of Los Angeles.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years Joseph “Joe” White. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Nenette Bettencourt, Colette Mauge, Aaron Sherbrook all of Hanford, Justin Sherbrook of Visalia, Michelle Corbaly of Los Banos, Heather Gould of Placerville, Lael Pollack and Logan Pollack of Los Angeles, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She had been a member of the Episcopal Church of the Saviour for 54 years and was active in their Women's Club and Bible Study. Her French spirit and accent will be truly missed. She will be forever in our hearts.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Hanford Cemetery; 10500 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-3937 followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:30 a.m. at The Church of our Saviour; 519 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-7706.
