Gertrude H. Stover, ‘Trudie’; went home to be with her Lord on September 18, 2014. She was born July 31, 1925 in East Rutherford, N.J. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren M. Stover, JR, son Warren P. Stover and both her parents Johanna M. & Robert A. Harrsch. She is survived by her brother Robert A. Harrsch JR. She is loved by 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Trudie spent her life caring for her family, serving her God and church family at St. James Lutheran and loving all she came in contact with. She never met anyone who was a stranger for long or a child she did not adopt as her own before the day was done. She was active in community service through many projects and was a long time Officer of Thrivent. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and did numerous crafts. She will be fondly known for her baking of pies, cinnamon rolls and cookies. She never made one of anything because she always shared with others first before herself. Our lives will not be the same without her. ‘A Lady’, in word and deed and an example to all.
