Gladys Vondell Brewer

Gladys Vondell Brewer, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving daughter, Lucy Rodriguez, and her son, Floyd Ellis Brewer Jr. Born in Mississippi on August 5, 1943, Gladys devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, and friend to many.

Gladys was deeply passionate about her family and found joy in caring for those she loved. She had a special talent for quilting and proudly won numerous ribbons at local county fairs for her beautiful work. She also loved gardening and found peace and happiness tending to her flowers and plants.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Floyd Brewer; her son, Mark Brewer; and her brothers, George Phillips and Johnnie Phillips.

Gladys is survived by her daughters, Lucy Brewer Rodriguez and Margaret Brewer; her sons, Billy Brewer and Floyd Brewer Jr.; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish her memory and carry her love forward.

Graveside services will be held June 4th 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, 19811 Cedar Street, Laton, California 93242. A small lunch and gathering for family and friends will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, California 93230.

Gladys will be remembered for her gentle heart, creativity, strength, and unwavering love for her family.
