

Glenn William Thwaytes, Jr. better known as “Bill” passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) surrounded by his family who treasured and loved him deeply. He was born May 30, 1944 in Tucson, AZ to Glenn W. Thwaytes, Sr. and Barbara Jane Thwaytes. He was raised in the San Fernando Valley where he attended high school and Jr. College. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. He went to boot camp at Ft. Ord and was stationed in Germany. He received the National Defense Service Medal. He sold real estate in Valencia & Lafayette. He moved to Fresno and was a salesman for B.R. Funsten a wholesale flooring distributor. In 1994 he married Claudean & moved to Hanford and became an agent for Horace Mann Insurance. He was happily married to Claudean for 18 years. He enjoyed his family, gardening, traveling, fishing & being in the T-bird Club.
He is survived by his wife, Claudean. Bill was the oldest of four siblings, leaving sisters Melinda Hahn (husband Walter), Brother Greg (wife Barbara) and Sister Cynthia. Mother-in-law, Martha Barton, sisters –in-law, Gloria Gibson & Yvonne Brown. His daughter, Holly Johnson, Step-daughter Sherie Menzie and step-son, Dean Bartron. Grandsons Jason and Nicolas, step-grandchildren, Danielle, Alexis, Jared, Kaitlyn, Holly, Sarah, Gianna. Great-granddaughter, Alexis & step great grandson, Waylon. Nephews Brian, Spencer & Alex and niece Emily.
A Celebration of Life in Bill’s memory will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Koinonia Christian Fellowship 12536 Hanford-Armona Rd. Hanford, Ca. Donations can be made in his name to Central Valley ALS, American Cancer Society or the Hanford Adventist Health Hospice.
