Ian was born in Fresno, California to Jane E. and Thomas R. Woolley. At the age of 3, the family moved to North Carolina. During their years on the East Coast his parents eventually separated; his mother went on to marry Neal Mankey, over time adding three siblings to Ian’s family: Nelson, Nicholas, and Emilie. Ian was in high school when the Mankey-Woolley family returned to California, first to San Clemente and then to Hanford a few years later. During their time in San Clemente, Ian met his best friend Tygan and was inducted into the Golembiewski clan, who he has claimed as his “other family” ever since. Back in the San Joaquin Valley, he briefly attended Reedley College focusing on automotive certification while making friends all over the place. He joined a historical reenactment guild, participated in sword fighting, and enjoyed jamming with anyone that had a musical inclination.
Following a very short marriage, Ian became involved in the Oasis Church in Hanford: serving on the Praise and Worship Team, as well as running the sound system for services. There he met Elizabeth Hewitt whom he befriended, courted, and then asked to marry him on his birthday in 2010. The couple was wed at Kearney Renaissance Faire on November 14, 2010. They continued to participate in their Renaissance Guild even as his work with PG&E took them from Fresno to the San Francisco Bay Area for several years before he was able to find an open position back in the area he considered to be home in 2017.
Ian is survived by his wife Elizabeth Woolley of Hanford, CA; Father Thomas Woolley of Charlotte, NC, Mother Jane Mankey and Stepfather Neal of St. George, UT; two brothers Nelson Mankey and wife Claire of Madison, WI; Nicholas Mankey and wife Brianna of Gilroy, CA; and one sister Emilie Trimble and husband James; two nephews, a niece, and his fur-babies Seaclaid and Ramiel (cats). The Golembiewski family: Dee and Paul, their son Tygan, and his siblings and children. The Tuath Ui Niall/MacAiodh renaissance guild and the whole extended Faire Family, as well as friends and family from every corner of the world.
