Jim was a longtime resident of Hanford and devoted his life to his family and community. Together with his beloved wife, Freda, he raised four children and later opened his heart and home to help raise two of his grandchildren.
Jim was proud of his career as a truck driver and often shared stories from his years on the road. After retirement, he found joy in helping friends, neighbors, and family repair small engines, always willing to lend a hand and share his knowledge.
The last few years of Jim's life were spent with his son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Kathy. They ensured he had the best quality of life possible and surrounded him with love and care. He spent his days with Kathy, often giving her a run for her money, and she provided exceptional care and companionship until the very end.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Freda; his granddaughter, Shelby; his brothers Bill, Rick, and Don; and his sisters Polly and Donna.
He is survived by his children: Jimmy (Tammy), Deborah, Matt (Kathy), and Michael; his sister, Betty; his cherished grandchildren: Jamie, Eric, Cheyenne, Janelle, Alex, Jeffrey, and Jessica; and many great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, his playful spirit, and his love of storytelling. A natural jokester, he was always ready with a prank, a laugh, or a tale from days gone by. His warmth, generosity, and ability to bring smiles to those around him will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day."
