

James was born on April 29, 1933, in Marmaduke, Arkansas. He moved to Corcoran, California, with his family in 1942. James served on active duty in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 in Hokkaido, Japan. He then returned to Corcoran to work as an equipment truck driver for J.G. Boswell Company until he retired. In 1956, James married his wife, Norma, and they welcomed their son, Terry, into the world in 1958. In 1999, James moved to Hanford, California, where he spent his retirement attending church, traveling, and enjoying time with his wife and grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his mother and father, Roy and Verlia Jarvis, as well as his brothers Edward, Delois, and Charles, and his sisters Lovina and Dale Ann.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; his son, Terry Jarvis; his grandchildren Michael and Erin Jarvis; and his great-grandchildren Noah Salcedo, Micah Jarvis, and Olivia’May Jarvis.
In accordance with James's wishes, no public funeral services will be held.
