Janet Joyce Bloyd, (Sunni), 75 was born at Farnborough Royal Air Force Base in England, February 19, 1946 to Marjorie Ruth Smith (American mother) & John AG Smith (English father). She passed away September 14, 2021 after being seriously ill for many years.
Sunni was an accomplished writer (5 books), wrote articles for Orange Coast Magazine, Military Wives Clubs and Cat Fancy Clubs. She was a teacher of 7th- 9th grades in Germany and USA. She used to tell her husband that she loved each and every one of her students. One of her favorite sayings when a student was trying to give her some excuse was “OH WELL”. That seemed to fit all situations. Her passions were reading, writing, ancestry, archaeology, jewelry making and cats of all kinds. She raised and showed pure-bred long-haired Persians and American Short Hairs. She traveled with her family all over the world with her cats and finally became a cat judge in Germany achieving one of her life long goals. Sunni Spoke English, German and Latin. She understood French & Spanish. She was an avid reader of books and magazines. Last but not least she was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to all.
Sunni is survived by her husband of 56 years, John R Bloyd, son John AC Bloyd, spouse Stacy, grandchildren Stephanie, William &Lexi and great granddaughters Elliana & (Juliana-to be born in Dec 2021) and son Jeremy EB Bloyd, spouse Kerensa, grandchildren Alex & Atalissa and two younger sisters: Sunny Smith & Victoria Smith
Funeral services and reception will be held outdoors at 10:30AM Saturday Oct 30, 2021 at St James Lutheran Church, 1780 Emma Lane, Hanford, CA 93230. Services will be broadcast live as well on Zoom and Facebook: (stjameshanford.org).
