Although he was born in Fremont, Nebraska, he spent most of his childhood in the town of Wayne, Nebraska. He retained a lifelong love of his home state and visited often over his lifetime. Jerry served for six years in the Army before being honorably discharged. During this time, he served in Japan, which was the only time he left the U.S. After moving to California, Jerry worked for Safeway for almost forty years. After his retirement from this long career, he discovered that he was not the retiring type, and went to work for the IRS in Fresno for another ten years. Bud was known for his dry sense of humor and wit. While he was still able to travel, he enjoyed riding the train to Reno to play the slot machines, going to the race track, and visiting family. He was very proud of his four daughters, and ten grandkids. He loved music, a nice glass of wine, and was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan.
He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Barber and her husband Wade, daughter Lori Scher and her husband Eddie, daughter Becky Long and her husband Mike, and daughter Linda Korff-Reis and her husband Darrell, grandkids Nate and Maggie Barber, Zac and Lindsey Barber, Roxy and Chris Tracy, Ben Long, Katie and Jack Evert, Abe and Jess Scher, Samantha Long, Ethan Reis, Sydney Reis, Sawyer Reis, and eight great grandkids. He is also survived by his brother, and best friend Jack Korff, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Don Buckley, Dwayne Buckley, and Lee Buckley, mother Hazel Johnson Korff, and father Edward Korff.
