Jonathan "Jon" Smith

Jonathan David Smith passed away on July 17, 2013. Jon was born on April 11, 1975 in Port Huron, MI, to Walter and Suzann Smith. He attended Port Huron Northern High School, graduating in 1994. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school and served until 1998. Jon married his wife of 16 years, Terry (Kelly) Smith in 1997. Jon worked as a Tradesman at Quantum Plumbing and Heating, and at Corporate Aircraft as a Line Supervisor before returning to school to earn his degree in Criminal Justice in 2007. He then worked for Tulare County until present. He loved to hunt, fish, play basketball and play with his three beautiful daughters.

He is survived by his wife; Terry Smith and his daughters; Mikayla, Chelsea, and Juliana all of Hanford, his parents; Walter and Suzann Smith of Michigan, his mother-in-law; Carol Herriage of Lemoore, father-in-law; Gene Kelly of Clovis, his sister; Elizabeth Gaipa and her husband Steven of Raleigh, North Carolina, his sister-in-law; Jessica Lugge and her husband John of Monterey, his one nephew; Benjamin Gaipa of Raleigh, North Carolina, and his one niece; Kayley Lugge of Monterey. He is also survived by grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24,2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and also on Thursday, July 25,2013 from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. all at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-5591.

Memorials may be made to the surviving children’s college funds.
