OBITUARY

Josie G Bonilla

March 19, 1933April 8, 2018

Josie Bonilla was born March 19, 1933 in San Antonio TX to David Solis Bonilla and Rita Garcia Bonilla. David and Rita had eight children: Frank, Pascuala, Andrea, Victor, David, Josie, Consuelo (Connie), and Esperanza (Hope). At the age of 15, Josie eloped and relocated to California. She lived in various places, but always considered Hanford her hometown. Josie committed her life to Jesus in 1992 and was baptized at the age of 59 at Primera Iglesia Bautista, in Hanford CA. Although she wasn’t able to attend in her last years, Josie considered herself a lifetime member of Primera Iglesia. When Josie’s health began to suffer she entered into nursing care. In early 2017 she chose to move back home with family to live out her remaining days, surrounded by the love and care that only family can provide. Josie was 85 years old when the Lord called her home. Primera Iglesia was her home church and her desire was to have her family gather there one last time for her Celebration of Life service. Josie is survived by 8 children, 32 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters. The depth of her family’s love is immeasurable and she will be missed tremendously, but the hope and knowledge of seeing her again in the presence of the Lord brings peace and comfort during this difficult time. Celebration of Life service will be Friday, April 13, at 12:00 p.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 409 N. Brown St., Hanford CA. Graveside service will be at Hanford Cemetery, 10500 S. 10th Ave. at 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. Bonilla was a gentle soul. A very caring soul. She always had a smile, a kind word for all. A dear friend to my mother, brother and the rest of our family. May God comfort those left behind. But knowing they will one day meet again. Frances our Prayers are with you and your family.
