Judy D. Stryd

Judy D. Stryd, 92, of Hanford, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Adventist Medical Center. Judy was born on December 8, 1921 in Bache, OK. She was the daughter of Charlie and Ethel (Nelson) Isenhower. She attended school at White Chimney and Stuart, Oklahoma. Judy married the love of her life, John Stryd on June 7, 1947 in Hanford, CA, where they farmed in the Hardwick area until John retired.

She was a member of the Hanford Christian Reformed Church for over 60 years. At the church, she was a member of many different clubs including; Golden Hour Circle, Sonshine Fellowship, Coffee Break, and Sunday School. She was also a member of the Mothers Club for Hanford Christian School.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; John Stryd, her son; Roger Stryd, her parents; Charlie & Ethel Isenhower, four brothers; Clarence Isenhower, Wiley Barger, Neal Barger, Foy Barger, and one sister; Lottie Moore.

She is survived by her son; Doug Stryd and wife Tina of Hanford, and her daughter; Karen Starcevich and husband Paul of Fresno. She will also be missed by her one grandson; Paul Douglas Starcevich and four granddaughters; Hannah Starcevich, Bernadette Matos and partner Rick Mora, Debbie Larson and Lisa Ormonde. She had 9 great-grandchildren; Adreanna, Isac, Marissa, Leandra, Antonia, Isabel, Mia, Ricky and Michelle.

Judy may be gone from us now, but never forgotten. She will be remembered for her strong faith in Jesus and love of family.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at Hanford Cemetery; 10500 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230 followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church; 2175 Leoni Drive, Hanford, CA 93230.
