Kathy was born on February 9, 1954 in Fowler, California. Anyone who knew Kathy knew just how full of life she was. Kathy spent many of her adult years attending Kings Rehabilitation Center, where she enjoyed participating in several of their programs and activities. In addition to attending Kings Rehab Center, Kathy loved being a part of Kings County Special Olympics. A few of her favorite sports were floor hockey and bowling. When Kathy was not at program or Special Olympics, you could usually find her right next to her loving Mama with a video game and Pepsi in hand.
After the passing of her parents, Kathy began a new adventure moving in with her brother and his family. In her new home, Kathy enjoyed being the princess. She developed a love for shopping and was affectionately known as “the shopping queen”. Kathy enjoyed keeping busy with the family attending her nephews' many ball games and events. She especially loved family trips to the beach, camping, and visiting Mickey Mouse at Disneyland. Kathy loved Jesus and found her way to serve Him by working in the nursery at Koinonia Church. She loved rocking the little ones that would climb onto her lap. Kathy had a strong love for the many children in her life. If Kathy saw a child walk through the door, she immediately felt they needed a treat, and she was happy to get it for them.
Kathy is survived by her loving brother, James Howell, his wife Cinnamon, and sister Rebecca Howell. She was a loving aunt to Houston, Dalton, Braden, Angie, Jasmine, Roy Gene, Jackie, and Sherrie. Kathy was preceded in death by her adoring parents, Roy and Wanda Howell, and sister Sharon Cunningham. Kathy will be missed by all but will forever be in our hearts.
Kathy’s peaceful final resting place will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Laton, California.
