Catalina (Katie) V. Chavarria, age 90, entered peacefully into rest, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, April 22, 2022. Katie was born February 13, 1932 in Peoria, Arizona to Guadalupe Acosta and Abel O. Velo Sr.
Katie married the love of her life, Richard Chavarria, on February 1, 1951. Together they celebrated 40 years of blissful marriage.
Katie is survived by her son Robert "Bobby" Chavarria (Eulalia "Lily"); and her son Larry Chavarria (Susana). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Katie was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Chavarria and grandson Anthony Chavarria.
A Visitation for Katie will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at People's Funeral Chapel, 501 North Douty Street, Hanford, California 93230. A Funeral Service will at 10:00 a.m.; burial to follow immediately at at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 S 10th Ave, Hanford, California 93230.
