Marie was born to Peter and Bertha (formerly Vanravenhorst) Buwalda on July 31, 1934. She is predeceased by both her parents, her older sister (Pat Gillam), her younger sister (Sadie Fike), her husband (Lloyd Wayne Bookout Sr.) and her son (Lloyd Wayne Bookout Jr.).
She is survived by her brother (John Buwalda) her two daughters (Linda VanHouten and CandiLayne Bookout), 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was a loving devoted daughter, friend, mother, grandmother and wife of over 60 years. She loved with everything she had and she had a great 89-year run. She was a fun-loving prankster and she would laugh until she cried. So, instead of shedding a tear for her passing, pass on the love. As she would say ”tutsje hawwend” (give me a kiss in Dutch).
A Graveside Service for Marie will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 1:30 pm. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Rd, Santa Nella, California 95322.
