Mary Ellen Kelly

Mary Ellen, age 97 passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 in the home of Graceful Living in Arroyo Grande where she lived the last few years of her life. Mary Ellen was born March 13th, 1928 to Ophelia Stone and Harly Stone in McFarland, California.

Mary Ellen was a one-of-a kind wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. We will love and miss her until we reunite one day.

Mary Ellen is survived by her son Pepper Kelly; her daughter Patty Fontes; her 6 Grandchildren; 22 Great Grandchildren; and 16 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her father Harly Stone and her mother Ophelia Stone; her husband Karol Kelly; her daughter Candy Burnes; her 4 brother’s, Rex, Bob, Howard and Buck Stone; and her 3

sister’s, Nora Kophenefer, Irine Stidham, and Janet Stone.

Mary Ellen met the love of her life Karol, and they were married March 13th, 1949 in Hanford, Ca. Soon after, they began to start their family with the birth of their twins (Pepper & Candy.) And a year later their youngest was born (Patty Fontes). Her greatest devotion was to her family and she

will be greatly missed.

Mary Ellen will be laid to rest September 23rd, 2025 in Grangeville Cemetery, 10428 14th Ave, Armona, Ca 93202
