Maureen "Kay" Lackey Hotz-Parvin

Maureen Kay Hotz-Parvin, 66 of Hanford, California was born Maureen Kay Lackey on January 19, 1947 to Chet and Jean Lackey. She passed peacefully on her birthday, Saturday, January 19, 2013 with her loving husband Richard “Dewey” Parvin and family by her side. Kay, as she was well known to others, graduated from Hanford High School in 1965 and later attended beauty school to receive her cosmetology license. Working in Hanford she met her 1st husband, Donald Hotz, together they built a construction company and owned multiple properties throughout the valley. After Don’s passing, Kay kept the businesses running with the help of her family.

Kay’s life’s passion was saving and caring for any and all animals. They had a special place in her home and heart, and she genuinely enjoyed nurturing them. The happiest moments in Kay’s life were those among her family. She enjoyed every moment with her grandkids; “Nana Kay” was her name to many.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, Donald Hotz; sister, Donna Pierotte; sister, Janice Rutt and stepson, Robert Hotz. Kay is survived by her husband, Richard “Dewey” Parvin; son, Dennis “Butch” Hotz (Kim); stepson, Rick Hotz (Charlotte); stepson, Randy Hotz (Darrilyn); brother, Vern Lackey (Annette) and brother, Gary Lackey (Debby), all from Hanford, California. Kay also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday, January 26, 2013, on her son’s birthday. This was one of the happiest days of her life, further completing her beautiful circle of life. She will be deeply missed.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grangeville Cemetery; 10428 14th Avenue, Armona, CA 93202 559-924-3439.

In memory of Kay and her love for animals, the family requests donations to be made in her name to Stonecliffe Animal Rescue, in lieu of flowers and gifts.
