

Melvin Rogers, born on March 20, 1950, passed away on December 16, 2023, at the age of 73. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Melvin was the cherished son of Charles and Georgette Rogers, and a beloved brother to Karen. His childhood was marked by the warmth of family, surrounded by cousins, sharing in laughter, play, and the joy of family gatherings, creating bonds that endured throughout his life.
Mel later ventured to Fresno, CA, where he pursued his education at Fresno State, culminating in a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry. However, his professional journey led him into management positions within the Information Technology field, showcasing his adaptability, diverse skills, and leadership.
Melvin’s kind and gentle nature endeared him to everyone he encountered. His commitment to family was evident in his unwavering love for his wife, Mary Lou Rogers, and his deep connection with his children, Keith and Lisa, his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Rogers and Marin Garcia, as well as his treasured grandchildren, Kamryn, Ella, and Malia.
Beyond his professional and familial roles, Mel found joy in exploring the world through travel, read countless books about civil and world wars, and found love for visiting wineries with Mary Lou as they became wine connoisseurs.
A celebration of Melvin’s life will be held to honor the legacy he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Diabetes Association. Mel will be remembered for his warm spirit, love for family, and the enduring impact he had on those fortunate enough to share in his journey.
