Mike was born to Roy and Catherine Myers on June 3, 1966 in Hanford, California.
He was the proud owner of Myers Well Drilling and Manzanillo Cattle.
Mike was born and raised in Hanford. In his younger years, he was involved in the Future Farmers of America earning the highest accomplishment, the American degree. This involvement continued through his adulthood as he generously supported children with their 4-H and FFA projects at the Kings County Fair. He supported the family businesses starting with Myers Farms and lead to Myers Brothers Well Drilling. This prepared him to branch off on his own in 2006 to create Myers Well Drilling. He was also a member of National Ground Water Association, Kings Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association, California Waterfowl Association, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, an appointed committee member to the South Fork Kings Groundwater Sustainability Agency, and a board member for Venida Packing, among many others. He continued with his work hard, play hard mentality by starting another business Manzanillo Cattle and adding the American Angus Association to the list.
Mike was larger than life and as his wife Stacie would say, “He was always going 110 miles an hour.” As if running successful businesses wasn’t enough, he made time to enjoy his many hobbies. He loved riding ATV’s, fishing, hunting, traveling the world, and going to concerts. In his short life, he was able to cross many items off his bucket list including what he thought to be the hardest test in his life, attaining his pilot’s license.
Mike had the biggest heart and generously supported many local organizations including the Kings County Sheriff’s K9 Unit. He never backed down from a challenge and always left things better than he found it. The only thing he couldn’t fix was something that was never broken. Surviving cancer, twice, never slowed him down or prevented him from living his life to the fullest nor did it stop him from assuming the role as caretaker to all. Anyone he ever met became a friend to him. His handshake and his word meant more than any contract. His legacy will live on through his wife, children and his love for agriculture.
He is predeceased by his father, Roy Myers and his father-in-law, Howard Lotton.
