Her parents and siblings moved to Corcoran, CA and due to a flash flood, they moved to Hanford, CA. Norma attended the Armona Grammar school and Hanford High School. On September 24, 1951, Norma married the love of her life, Bert Boogaard.
Norma was a member of the First Christian Reformed church of Hanford where she was on the serving committee, church choir and in charge of Friendship. She also attended Bible study regularly.
Thoughts of Norma's life are endless. She seriously was a Proverbs 31 woman. Her capacity was tremendous. She was a stay at home mom and gifted at being able to entertain her children. While her children were in school, she worked to help out by selling
Studio Girl products and Avon products, working in the hospital and babysitting. Norma also helped with Mothers club at the Hanford Christian School.
Norma was an extremely good baker. Her heart was into baking homemade breads, cookies, pies & cakes and the list goes on. She always had time to give homemade items to her neighbors. All her neighbors knew her well as she welcomed everyone into
her home with open arms.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Johnie Hodges, her siblings: Irene Wilson, Kenneth Hodges and Kay Wright along with her husband, Bert Boogaard.
She is survived by two siblings, Lloyd Hodges of Pismo Beach and Janet Henshaw of Hanford, her two daughters, Cindy Revious of Hanford and Gail Jundt and her husband Tim of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Norma will be cherished by her grandchildren, Donja Ver Steeg and her husband Rodney of Wheatfield, IN, Danae Revious of Hanford, Carrie Yatooma and her husband Chris of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Adriana Hayes and her husband Chris of Brookfield, WI, Ryan Jundt and his wife Stephanie of Orange Park, FL.
