Odell Smith

Odell attended Visalia Union High School in Visalia, California, graduating in 1952. He married Cora Belle Dennis in 1957, and together they settled in Armona, California where they raised their 3 children.

Odell started Kaweah Typewriter Co. in 1965, providing sales and service for office equipment. He later sold the business in 1978.

Odell was a lifelong man of God. He served as a Deacon at several churches in Kings County. At the time of his death, he was attending New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Hanford.

Odell’s favorite past times were fishing, and playing guitar. Up until his early 80’s he was still fishing once a week. He was a member of the Christian musical groups The Kings Three, and Gloryland.

Odell was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Cora, in 2019. He is survived by his 3 children; Connie Soares (Richard); Larry Smith (Pam); and Becky Felsinger (Mike). Grandchildren; Justin, Lynette (Ben), Melissa (Justin), Derek, Travis, and Logan. Great-grandchildren Benjamin, Adam, and Jacob.

Graveside services will take place Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 11 am at the Grangeville Cemetery in Armona, Ca. A luncheon reception will take place immediately following the graveside service, at Armona Assembly of God Church.
