Oliver was born in Corona, California on December 31, 1931 to Oliver and Lillian Bergren.
After graduating from Lake Elsinore High School, Oliver joined the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, Oliver loved to play soft ball. He was a VIP pitcher for several years on the Navy Team. When his children were little all the kids use to say, “is that your Dad, he is really fast at pitching the ball”.
Oliver proudly retired in 1971 from the U.S. Navy after serving 21 years. After retiring from the Navy, Oliver started working at the US Post Office in Lemoore. He retired from the Post Office in 1988 after 17 years of service. Oliver was blissfully married to the love of his life for 44 years to Geraldine Bergren until her passing.
Oliver loved to go hunting and fishing, he couldn’t wait to take his grandchildren out to see who was going to catch the biggest fish. Oliver will truly be missed by his children and grandchildren. He was always a generous man, he would help anyone…
Oliver is survived by his wife Virginia of 12 years and his 6 children; Robert “Bob” Bergren of Hanford, Roberta Bergren of Hanford, Joyce Fischer of Hanford, Roger and wife Susan Bergren of Louisiana, David and wife Diane Bergren of Hanford and Thomas and wife Cheryl Bergren of Hanford. Oliver had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as they too will miss him very much.
