With peaceful hearts we share the passing of Dr. Peggy Rhoads Warnock on June 29, 2023 in Hanford, California, just shy of her 79th birthday. Peggy was a kind and generous wife, mother, friend, and dentist whose spirit will be missed by many.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Darrell Warnock, her two children and their families, Stephen Locke of San Rafael, CA and Stacey (Craig) Ristow of Pleasanton, CA; her grandchildren, Todd and Kyle Ristow and Jordan And Wyatt Locke; her siblings, Patricia Rhoads fo Beverly, MA, Daniel (Dorothy) of Lemoore, CA and Susan (James) Gunter of Pacific Grove, CA, as well as ten nieces and nephews, all of whom were dear to her heart.
Born in San Jose, California on July 8, 1944, daughter of John E. Rhoads and Marjorie Cook Rhoads, Peggy was born into a family of dentistry. After graduating from Capuchino High School in San Bruno, she then pursued a degree in Dental Hygiene from Cabrillo College in Aptos. After working as a Dental Hygienist for more than 20 years, she made the decision to follow in her father and grandfather's footsteps to attend the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. Upon graduating, Peggy returned to Hanford to establish her own dental practice in the familiar office where she had practiced hygiene for so many years. As a kind and caring doctor, she was well respected in her field and her community until her retirement in 2017.
At home, Peggy loved her big, extended family. From her husband and children to her siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she thought of as family, she enjoyed being part of the memories that we all cherish. She generously and lovingly made a special mark on all of our hearts. She was a strong, dedicated lady who loved the people around her. We will miss her love of laughter and her kind and gracious nature.
A Celebration and Remembrance of Peggy's Life will be held at a yet to be determined time and place. Until then, please feel free to make a wish, say a prayer, or simply remember Peggy with a smile in your heart.
