Peter David Crawford

Peter David Crawford passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2024, in Hanford, CA. He was 63 years old. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden passing but rejoices in knowing that he is in the loving arms of the Lord.

Peter was born October 22, 1960, to Gladys and Rollie Crawford in Hanford, CA. He grew up in Caruthers, CA with his five siblings where he graduated from Caruther’s High School.

In 1980, he married his childhood sweetheart, Delores Hamlin. They were married for 37 years and remained friends until his passing. He was a devoted father to his own children, Matt, Jared, and Destiny, as well as over 60 foster children over 17 years. Peter went on to be blessed by three grandchildren - Shayla Crawford, Dylan Crawford, and Summer Crawford, who brought him great joy.

In 2019, Peter retired from the California Department of Corrections after 19 years of service as a Correctional Officer at the Corcoran Substance Abuse Treatment Facility.

Peter was strong in his faith and most recently attended the Armona Central Assembly of God Church. He loved God, his family, and his country.

Peter was a loyal fan of the Dodgers and the Raiders. He enjoyed watching games with family and friends as often as he could.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Rollie Crawford, his brothers, Mark Crawford and Duane Crawford, and his sister, Joyce Anderson.

He is survived by his sons, Matt Crawford (Laura) and Jared Crawford (Chrissy) of Visalia, CA; his daughter, Destiny Crawford, of Hanford, CA; his grandchildren, Shayla Crawford, Dylan Crawford, and Summer Crawford of Visalia, CA; his siblings, Bonnie Woods (Bill), Russell Crawford (Robbie), and Rebecca Gonzales (Andy) of Fresno, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life and reception for Peter to be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Hanford Elks Lodge located at 506 N. Douty St, Hanford, CA, 93230.

At a later date, a private ceremony will be held and Peter will be interned to the Washington Colony Cemetery in Easton, CA, where he will rest with his parents.

Services have been entrusted to People’s Funeral Chapel in Hanford, CA.
