Ramona was born on May 17, 1933 in Mercedes, Texas to Jose Sauceda & Maria Rubio. She was a very hard worker throughout her life at an early age. She would travel with her sisters to Michigan, Mississippi, or many other places doing seasonal work. She fell in love and married Juan Francisco Medina in 1952. They left Mercedes in 1956 and moved their family to Malaga, California, where they lived until Juan’s passing in 1961. She then moved her family to Hanford, California where she lived the remainder of her life.
She worked for many years in local Mexican restaurants and also as a housekeeper at Best Western before retiring. She married Edmundo Torres in 1990, in El Paso, Texas, and they loved traveling together. She loved to spend her time with her favorite, hobby gardening. Her green thumb could make any plant come back to life. They always had such a beautiful garden with every flower you could think of. She loved her music. Her and Mundo would dance to their favorite ranchera or Cumbia songs. She enjoyed celebrating any occasion just to be around her family and cook her favorite salsa and many other wonderful dishes for everyone. She was our Matriarch and the rock that kept us all together.
