Our community has lost our beloved patriarch.  Ritually our family went to Frank's Market daily. Richard treated everyone like family.  His ready smile and charm were heartfelt.  We were safe and loved. Brother worked at Frank's Market for thirty-three dynamic years. Marilyn and Richard worked seamlessly together at the store, providing Mike and Rachelle with life skills. They learned and flourished. Richard and Marilyn provided the small town of Armona with kindness, respect, and love without conditions.  Our prayers go out to the entire extended Maccagno family and lifetime friends.  We love you all.

My deepest condolences and prayers for strength in this difficult time.  Always being greeted with respect and connection with families who shopped at old franks market.  Knowing family members by sight and name made you want to do business with their establishment.

I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family. I lived in Armona for 20+ years and loved going into Franks Market for my groceries. Frank was a great man and always welcomed his customers. Rip Frank.

When I first married and moved to Armona (62 years ago), Richard, Marilyn, Frank and Lydie were some of the first people I met. What a blessing. Richard always had a smile and laughter when we came in to the store to shop. Richard will be missed in Armona. May God bless you and keep you. Very sad day. Richard was one of the kindest people I have ever met. He will truly be missed.

Rich was like a big brother to me and my brother, Sam.
 Sam and I were very fortunate to spend a few Summer weeks during the 1950's with Aunt Lyda, uncle Frank and Richard. 
 We have many fond memories, like so many others, of spending time in Frank's Market even working in the "bone yard" sorting soda bottles.
  One Summer Rich and Marilyn were so nice they took us to a drive- in movie with them.  I don't remember if we got the front seat or the back. 
 God bless you Rich.  Thanks for the memories and for being an amazing role model.

So sorry for your families loss we lived right next door to franks when I was younger great guy ❤️.When my son was a baby  I would always make sure to stop and visit with Richard  to say hi ,he even would weight my son on the meat scale 🙏❤️gain my thoughts and prayers

Good old Richard.
One day, I went to the store and asked Richard for a job, because Frank had told me, that when I got older, to come back for a job.  Of course, there was no openings, but he let me down gently.
I also remember going to the store and asking him if they had fish eyes in glue.  He told me what isle and smiled, telling me that he had seen that in Dennis the Menace too.
So many great memories.

My beautiful brother-in-law‘s life was well spent with love for others and generosity of heart. He was a joy to be with and was always kidding around. I will miss his smile and miss his humor. His loving favorite sister. - in - law..

Richard was such a wonderful man. I always liked seeing him at the store and his smiling face.  He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family.

Richard was one of those men who God put in my life to help fill the gap of a male role model for me and my siblings. He was always kind, always looked at the bright side of life. What a blessing he was to my childhood. He had a way of making you feel important. I loved stopping in over the years to see his smiling face. My condolences to his family. I know he will be missed. Heaven just got sweeter.

So sorry about Richard's passing. He was a kind and joyful person. He sure can make your day. He will be missed. It was a joy working with you.

I was honored to work for the Maccagno family for over 13 years at Old Franks Market. Richard was kind Soul with a Big Heart. He had a favorite answer when asked how he was doing… “Fine as Wine, Smooth as Silk & Sweet as Sugar” I would always tell him he was SWEETER than Sugar! I have so many happy childhood memories of Richard and his family at Frank’s Market. 

Richard always seemed interested in each person who walked through those doors. His big wide smile was genuine and freely given. No matter my mood when I walked inside the store, I always left with the items I needed and a happier outlook for the day. 

My sincerest condolences to his family.

Im sorry to hear Mr. Maccagno has passed. I knew him when I lived in Armona during my elementary school days. He was very nice and always smiling. My condolences to his family and friends. 🙏
