Bob was born the 4th child of 8. He loved his family and would tell stories of growing up, being the first on the block to have a TV and of enjoying time on the front porch with family and neighbors telling stories and always helping each other. Bob joined the U.S. Navy right out of high school and was honorably discharged in June of 1962. The U.S. Navy is what brought him to California where he met his first wife Jean and they married, moved to Wisconsin and had three children. In 1971 they moved the family to California where he worked at Sacred Heart Hospital and Hanford High School as the director of maintenance. Bob and Jean made friends of anyone they met, neighbors, acquaintances and co-workers. Bob and Jean raised their children, worked, and built a cabin at Meadow Lakes in the Sierra's and enjoyed life together. Jean died of ovarian cancer in 1993. While Bob was volunteering at the Hanford YMCA, a mutual friend introduced him to Florence McDonald and went on their first date to church. Florence was a faithful woman and Bob followed all the steps to becoming Catholic after meeting Florence and became a devote Catholic. Bob loved Florence and they married in 1996. Together they enjoyed family, friends and trips including one back to her hometown in Kentucky. Florence passed away of a medical condition shortly after their marriage. Bob then went to work at Adventist Health - Hanford Community Medical Center as a maintenance worker starting a long history of "retiring" then "un-retiring", etc... There he met Becky Vidaurri who he married and they enjoyed each other’s families, church and similar joys of travel. Together Bob and Becky traveled to places like Ecuador, Italy, Boston, Ireland, etc. Becky was faithful and loving to Bob always. There are so many stories that we know are out there, we hope you can attend the services and the celebration of Life following at the Hanford Elks Lodge.
