

Rosalva “Rosie” De La Paz was born on April 4, 1955, to Gumercindo and Juanita Aguilar in Weslaco, Texas. Her family moved from Texas to California in 1964. Settling in Kettleman City in 1967, where she attended elementary school and continued to live until her passing. After elementary school she attended Avenal High School and eventually went on to get her AA at West Hills College. On May 19, 1974, she married the love of her life, Jesse De La Paz, also from Kettleman City, whom she was married to for 49 years. Together they shared four children.
Rosie was a long-time employee of Reef-Sunset Unified School District as an Instructional Aide. Her interests in life were reading, her furry friends, and gardening. The beach was her favorite place to go where she walked along the shore collecting seashells. Most of all, she loved cooking for and gathering with her family. Her kindness and sarcastic sense of humor will be missed.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents Gumercindo Sr. and Juanita Aguilar, her brothers; Nieves, Gumercindo Jr, and Noe Aguilar, and grandson Ripin De La Paz. She is survived by brothers; Sergio Aguilar, Tony Aguilar, Thomas Aguilar, and sisters; Estella Jones, Noemi Williamson, and Griselda Martinez, her four children; son David & wife Jennifer De La Paz, son Jason De La Paz, son Daniel & wife Yesenia De La Paz, and daughter Sarah De La Paz & son-in-law Lalo Ochoa, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on April 3, 2024 10:00 am at 20290 Third St. Stratford, CA 93266, with reception to immediately follow at Stratford Hall 19617 Empire St. Stratford.
