

Thomas R. Parra, 81 was called to be with the Lord, and reunited with his beloved wife Berniece on Monday, March 18, 2013 at his home in Hanford with his family at his side. Thomas was born to Daniel S. & Ruby (Lopez) Parra on February 25, 1932 in Hanford, California, where he has lived all of his life. Thomas was also preceded in death by his son; Tommy Parra Jr., parents; Daniel & Ruby Parra and his siblings; Cruz Parra, Bob Parra and Frances Roberts
Together with his father, Thomas successfully built and ran Parra’s House Moving Company. Thomas also served on the Lakeside School Board for over 20 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed trips to the coast, fishing, clamming, scuba diving, camping and hunting. In his younger years, Thomas was active in boxing, track & field and proudly served in the U.S. National Guard where he became Corporal with Company F, 185th Infantry.
Thomas is survived by his four children; Patricia Parra, Allen Parra and wife Holly, Steven Parra and wife Cyndi, Katherine Parra-Payne and husband Paul and a daughter-in-law; Elsa Parra. Thomas will also be truly missed by his 17 grandchildren; Douglas, April, Farrah, Jonathan, Jesse, Kristen, Melissa, Michael, Logan, Candice, Alexis, Joshua, Jacob, Ian, Aiden, Connor and Kassidy along with 11 great-grandchildren; Andrew, Alyssa, Martin, Dougie, Ashley, Emily, Evan, Luke, Skylar, Ariana and Starla. Thomas is also survived by his siblings; Rudy, Mario, Theresa and Helen.
Thomas will be missed by his family and will be remembered for the unique stories of his lifetime adventures, which will be shared within the family for years to come…
