Wally was born in Bakersfield, CA to Francis “Shorty” Lemaster and Ruby Lemaster on July 29, 1943. He was raised by his paternal uncle and aunt, Wallace and Lavena Lemaster, who he lovingly referred to as “Ma” and “Pa”. Wally graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1961. He was stationed at Ellis Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD from 1962 to 1966, and served in Guam as a helicopter mechanic. In 1964, he met the absolute love of his life, Madalynn Marie Murrey. The two of them eloped in January 1966 on the base after a brief wait in a hangar while a snow storm came through. They were the best of friends. After his service in the Air Force, they moved back to Bakersfield in 1966. In 1969, Deana Marie was born, then in 1972 Kevin John was born. The family enjoyed camping, fishing, motor cycle riding and vacationing while they raised their two children. Together they owned Wallace General Machine for 28 years. When they became empty-nesters, Wally and Madalynn enjoyed riding their Harley’s together, singing karaoke, and fishing at Lake Powell, UT. They retired to Eureka, Montana in 2005, where they bought a beautiful cabin and made some more amazing friends and memories.
Wally is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Madalyn (2013), and they will both be truly missed and forever loved.
Wally is survived by his children Deana Kirby and Kevin Lemaster (Debbie) and four grandsons, Carson, Nathan, Alex and Bryce. He is also survived by so many wonderful friends.
