He was predeceased by his father Harold Smith and Mother Eva Smith (Clatter) , his sister’s ─ Aggie Porter (Smith).
He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his son Dennis Smith his daughters Sundee Smith and Elaine Smith, his grandchildren: Shannon and Ian Smith. His brother, Walter Smith, Sister Civa Reyna, including four stepchildren by his Mary and nieces and nephews.
He grew up on a dairy farm and milked cows by hand until he joined the marines and fought in the Korean War. He then worked as a civil servant at the CB base in Hueneme as an accomplished welder and during that time built the stairs at Anacapa Island.
