

Wyiss Rudolph Edwards, Jr. was born in California at Vanderberg Air Force Base in April 1968; the son of Wyiss Edwards, Sr., a serviceman at the time, and his mother, Colette of French ancestry. He was only a few months old when the family went to live in Germany for five years. Wyiss came back to Maryland as his father was stationed at Bolling Air Force Base. At seven years old he rediscovered Europe as his father went to Shape/Nato base located in French speaking Belgium. Wyiss Jr. was then immersed in European culture visiting his maternal family in France, fluently speaking French. He was twelve when his family came back to California and lived in Lompoc.
Wyiss graduated from Lompoc High School, went to Cal Poly for a year and returned to Lompoc studying business administration. He was managing and eventually supervising at Domino’s pizza. Wyiss met his future wife, Tina; they married January 30, 1993 and had two children, Carissa and Keith. He was a good husband and good father always putting his family first.
From Lompoc they moved to Atascadero and settled later in Hanford for eleven years. He attended West Hills Community College wishing to become a history teacher. He was an avid reader of ancient history. Wyiss enjoyed playing video games with his son and , time permitting go on outings with his family.
Wyiss passed away on February 2, 2012 at Adventist Medical Center in Hanford, surrounded by his immediate family. He leaves his loving wife Tina of 19 years, a daughter Carissa and son Keith and his parents Colette and Wyiss Edwards, Sr., all of Hanford, California, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends on both sides of the Atlantic.
Wyiss Edwards, Jr. will be missed by all of us. He will finally be at peace and those who knew him loved him very much.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA.
