

Albert Richard Cavanagh of Kingston, Ma, formerly of Hanover, Ma, died March 31, 2015 at the age of 65. He is the beloved husband of Jean Cavanagh (Joubert) of 30 years; father of Caitlin Cavanagh of Reading, Ma, Tyler Cavanagh of Weymouth, Ma and James D. Hall of Plympton, Ma. He is predeceased by his parents George and Mona Cavanagh of Hanover, Ma. Loving Brother of Faye Perry and her late husband Alfred, Susan Swett and her husband Michael, Marjorie Denham and her husband Carl, his sister-in-law Cynthia and late brother George Cavanagh and sister-in-law Shirley and late husband Patrick Cavanagh. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Al grew up in Norwell and Graduated from Norwell High School as an athlete and active thespian. He joined the Navy and spent a number of years serving his country. Upon returning to Massachusetts, he graduated from Bridgewater State College and began a career of service to others as a social worker. Al retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a case worker at the Plymouth County House of Correction. Al was passionate about politics and spent many years alongside family and friends pursuing his own political aspirations but more importantly supporting others seeking office to better their communities. Al spent six years as a Selectman of the Town of Hanover and was former President of the Gurnet-Saquish Beach Association. He spent his life in service to others and will be remembered for the impact he had. A memorial visitation in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, HANOVER, on Thursday from 3-7 PM, followed by a 7 PM funeral home service.
