It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Amy Rhodes, age 60 of Halifax, MA (formerly of Humarock), on November 10, 2024. Born August 18, 1964 in Weymouth, she was the daughter of the late Paul Rich and Margaret “Peggy” (Hatch) Rich. Amy was a beloved mother, wife, and grandmother, whose warmth and whit left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Amy is survived by her loving husband Frank Rhodes of Halifax, MA, her daughters, Molly Doherty of Plymouth MA and Bridget (Michael) Dalton of Marshfield MA, and her two grandchildren, Declan Doherty and Michael Dalton Jr. Amy is also survived by her siblings, Lisa (John) Podrecca, of Crossville, TN, Kevin Rich (Steven Smoot) of Boston, MA, Jennifer (Jerome) Libby of East Wakefield, NH and Andrew (Jamie Kelly) Rich of Hull, MA, her niece, nephews, and many friends.
Amy was the proud mother of her two children, grandmother to her two grandchildren and wife to her husband of 25 years. She truly cherished the time with her family and would gather them together any chance she could. She was a graduate of Marshfield High School, Massasoit Community College, and Bridgewater State College. She also earned a certificate through Stonehill College. She was an avid learner and often joked that, if possible, she would be a professional student. She was a strong advocate as an AmeriCorps member in the VISTA program and as she continued her career in the legal field as a paralegal. She loved the beach and going down to watch the sun rise with her husband Frank, she loved the river often floating up and down with the tide change, and she loved spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed detective and mystery shows, often trying to figure out who did it before the show finished.
We will gather to celebrate Amy’s life at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 2 Maquan Street, Hanson, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 21, from 4-7pm. There will be a gathering next summer in Humarock to spread her ashes.
