
Arthur F. Murphy Sr., 93 of Hanover passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was born and Raised in Everett and had lived in Weymouth for 55 years. He was a salvage and rescue deep sea diver for the Navy in WWII. He was director of Labor Relations for HUD and before that was in the construction field as a carpenter. Arthur enjoyed all sports and was a member of the D.A.V. chapter #65 in Weymouth. Beloved husband of the late Louise F. Murphy, he is survived by his son, Arthur Murphy Jr. and his wife Margie of Hanover, his daughter Louise Flebotte and her husband Paul of Hanover, his son James J. Murphy and his wife Denise of Punta Gorda FL. He leaves a brother Walter Murphy. He is survived by 15 grandchildren, Michelle Lengahan, Chrissy Rinkus, Lori Graham, Brian Murphy, Michael Murphy, James Driscoll Jr., Kevin Driscoll, Keith Driscoll, Kasey Driscoll, Paul Flebotte Jr, Jason Flebotte, Kelly Murphy, Jamie Murphy, Jake Murphy and Derek Murphy and 30 great grandchildren. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 in HANOVER on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in St. Jerome Church, 632 Bridge St, North Weymouth. Burial will be in Old North Cemetery in North Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the South Shore VNA, 30 Reservoir Park Dr, Rockland, MA 02370-1055 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
